JJ Aragon (president), Razz Terizzi (secretary), Melissa Green (board
member), Casey Schuler, Cody Bair, Linda Anderson (treasurer)

Corrections to the September meeting notes:
*  It's JJ Aragon.
*  The amount in the Treasurer's Report is $429.91.
*  JJ is giving the chapter report on Sunday of convention, not Saturday.

Meeting called to order at 1:15pm, October 21, 2017

Treasurer's report: $429.91
Includes Bill's gift card $10. $10 from Casey: $5 for membership and $5
donation. Donation of $50 from Larry Johnson, met at Community Fest; he may
try to attend a meeting.

September minutes approved.

State Convention
- Colorado raffle: sales are low this year, online sales are up for those
interested, physical tickets will be on sale at convention, Cody may send
out an email regarding selling tickets
- 50/50 raffle: has not been successful in the past but Cody suggests it
might do well at convention this year. The raffle is for a pot of money,
the winner gets half of it and the other half goes back to the chapter
which is running the raffle. Discussion of setting up a table at convention
to sell tickets at general session.Casey and Cody volunteered to help at a
table as did Melissa. Tickets will be brought to convention by JJ and
Melissa and passed out to chapter members for sale on Thursday night.
- Brief discussion of room situations.
- Resolutions and nominating committee: Melissa suggested Casey for
resolutions, seconded by JJ. Cody is on the nominating committee. Melissa
will be on resolutions representing the guide dog division. JJ will be
doing nominating for Fort Collins but will also attend resolutions.
- Melissa asked Linda if her husband Russel can be included in the moment
of silence for those who have passed. Linda approved.
- Pledge/contribution to the state affiliate: we agreed on $50
- Auction items: possibly a cake from Casey's grandmother and definitly
brownies made by JJ. JJ needs to buy brownie ingredients.
- Door prize: Linda has five door prizes: hand knitted hat/scarf set, two
more hand knitted hats, and two USB flash drives.
- Friday game/fun night: Fort Collins will provide a mechanical bull, an
obstacle course, musical chairs (by Mile High chapter), student division is
doing Twister, "horse race".
- Aira will be demonstrating throughout the convention.

Brief discussion of the merits of apps like Aira, situations where it would
be useful but also how it could be uncomfortable for some users. Also
discussed Seeing AI and its utility in reading things around the house.

Upcoming Chapter Events
- November: no Tree of Lights this year (as far as we know right now; we
are on the waiting list and Melissa will double check), we are donating to
the food drive
- December: Christmas party will be held at the library on the 9th (Melissa
will check on the room with the kitchen), tentative plans to invite Greeley
Evans Transit staff to thank them (ask dispatch to invite retired drivers);
plans to make brailled and printed thank you cards for the drivers
- January:  was originally going to be the GET event but we are planning to
combine that with the Christmas party
- February: BINGO fund raiser still tentatively being planned

JJ will try to attend the Imagine Greeley city planning event with Ashley
Monday, October 30.

Discussion on the future of GET and their plans to extend service to
Windsor and Fort Collins.

Discussion of the accessibility issues with Uber and Lyft in Greeley.
Segued into discussion about cab transportation in Greeley in general.
