[NFB-Greeley] August Minutes and September Meeting

 Hello everyone!

Thank you for your patience while I sorted out how to send the notes, ha
ha!

Before I send the notes for the August meeting, we are thinking of having
the September 21 meeting at Three Margaritas. So far, we haven't found any
alternatives to Old Chicago's but Three Margaritas is almost in the same
location (it is just across the parking lot from the mall bus transfer
area), it's smaller and will be quieter, and the space is more open. JJ is
going to see if we can get the private room there. If any of you have found
a possible place that we could meet at this month, please let us know!

Also we would like to have a formal discussion with everyone about what we
really want out of this chapter before we try to make plans for more
community outreach things. In the past year or so it seems like we have
sort of lost our way and our identity as the Greeley chapter. Let's do some
talking and fix that this month so we can move forward in a direction we
all want to go!

Now, at last, here are the minutes for the August meeting! Please let me
know if there are any errors and I will correct them in the main document.

NFB Greeley August meeting


Attending: JJ Aragon, Patrick, Brenda, Rodney, Melissa Green, Linda, Diane,
Rosa (new member), Natalia (new member)

Treasurer's report: $321.99 as of July 31

Melissa has applied for the PAC plan for our chapter, $5 to the state and
to our chapter every month, we would like to have everyone donate a dollar
each month to help fund the chapter and keep our account from being charged
fees


meeting location: VP Patrick would like to find a more appropriate location
to facilitate growing the chapter, creating events, setting up the website,
etc. Razz will speak with the Unitarian staff about using a room there.
Patrick will speak with AIMS COLLEGE. If we don't have a new place set up
by next month, we will meet at Old Chicago's again. Melissa will reserve
the new room at Lincoln Park library for next month. Razz will start an
email to discuss and finalise meeting location for next month and moving
forward, any member ideas are welcome. If needed a conference call can be
set up.


Meet the Blind month, October: Patrick suggested having buttons made for
members that would give the public an opening to talk to us, Diane
suggested water bottles, Rosa discussed the library outreach programs and
suggested getting us in contact with the people who run those programs to
connect with the community, we can send flyers to Rosa digitally and she
can post them with the libraries, Patrick may be able to make flyers. JJ
suggested another audio described movie day, Patrick suggested having it at
the Kress.


Put Rosa on the mailing list and contact her regarding Meet the Blind
month; she wants to connect us with a librarian to help set up activities.

JJ will need to let Natalia know by phone when and where our next meeting
is going to be.
