[NFB-Hams] becoming a ham operator

Becoming a licensed ham radio operator is a relatively simple proposition.  Acquire study materials, pass a 35 question test over simple electronics theory, radio terms and wave propagation, and FCC rules and regulations.

A good place to start is the handihams organization.  This is a group of hams who provide resources and assistance to prospective and current hams with disabilities.

Also, the ARRL technician license manual is available on NLS bard.  This is the study manual for the first level amateur radio license.

Also, look for amateur radio clubs in your area.  I have found that if you are willing to put in some effort, local hams will help you along.
