Subject: Ho`opono bill
Aloha, All! ;)
Can't remember if Virgil is back or not, yet, but one of the 3 bills we're
watching has been added to a committee agenda.
Who: Committee on Human Services, HI Senate
Senator Suzanne Chun Oakland, Chair
Senator Les Ihara, Jr., Vice Chair
What: SB891
Appropriates funds through general obligation bonds for the department of
human services, division of vocational rehabilitation and services for the
blind to upgrade equipment and facilities for the Ho'opono program.
DATE: Thursday, February 10, 2011
TIME: 1:45 p.m.
PLACE: Conference Room 016
State Capitol
415 South Beretania Street
You can see the full hearing notice at:
http://www.capitol.hawaii.gov/session2011/hearingnotices/HEARING_HMS_02-10-1
1_.HTM
including the other bills on the agenda.
Clicking on the "Status" link for SB 891 on that page will bring up info on
where it is in the process as well as a link to the full text of the bill.
Next Thursday might seem like far away, but please submit your testimony
before the hearing so the senators on the committee (or their staff) will
have time to review them.
If you need help, I think I recall seeing a PDF on testimony suggestions on
the Public Access Room's (PAR's) website:
http://hawaii.gov/lrb/par/
If you can attend in person, even better, but don't forget to submit your
testimony. BTW, I don't know when exactly our bill will be discussed, but
there are a lot of bills on the agenda &, to minimize distractions, they
usually ask everyone to arrive before the hearing starts & wait until the
end (or at least until there's a break) to leave.
Thanks! ;)
Sincerely,
Ronalene White
