Short Range Transit Service Operations Plan

HONOLULU . HONOLULU (AP) The city has scheduled informational briefings on
its plan to improve TheBus and TheHandi-Van service. The regional briefings
start on March 27 in Wahiawa and are scheduled in other areas of the island
through April 3. The meetings will go over the Honolulu Department of
Transportation Services draft Short Range Transit Services Operations Plan.
The department is working to develop and implement a strategy to improve the
effectiveness of its public bus system. The plan is intended to support
mobility for Oahu riders, reduce traffic congestion and work toward the
creation of livable communities. It identifies where existing service can be
improved and also sets the stage for fixed guideway service. The draft plan
and meeting schedule can be found at
