Practical, Effective, & Empowering
What: 1Touch Self Defense Coach Certification Course
When: June 4 - 6, 2018, 9 AM - 5 PM
Registration Deadline: May 25
Where: Assistive Technology Resource Centers;
200 N. Vineyard Blvd. Suite 430, Honolulu HI 96817
Whom: Adults, sighted or visually challenged, of all abilities, open to the
community
Cost: FREE (with 4 travel/lodging scholarships available of neighbor-island
participants)
The 1Touch Project is a not-for-profit organization that provides ongoing
self-development and rehabilitation courses through adapted self-defense
training specifically for people who are blind/visually impaired and members
of society requiring physically adaptive activities. Participants will learn
how to assess the level of danger in a situation, break free of another's
grasp, and judge whether to fight or flee. Learning these techniques has
proven highly effective in the development of: independence,
self-confidence, spatial orientation, mobility and dexterity, and tactile
sensitivity.
