Dear fellow Federationists and friends:
I hope you are having a great new year! I know there are some among us that are having a rough time. If you are unaware, here are a few things that have happened in our affiliate recently:

Vickie Bateman Snake River Chapter Pres. has been sick. She reports that she is feeling much better.
December 10, Vickie and Larry’ Bateman’s son, Ryan returned from Australia where he had been serving a mission for the last two years for his church.

Gus Tropea broke his ankle and will be unable to attend school this spring. Gus is vice president of the Student division.

We had a devastating loss. John (Jake) Jacobsen passed away on Dec. 23. He had pneumonia and was being taken care of by Grace (a nurse and nursing instructor). He is survived by his wife Grace Jacobsen and two children. He was a member out the Gateway Chapter and a Board member. He was a Veteran of multiple conflicts. His wife is also a veteran.

Larry Dickerson (Gateway Chapter Pres.) has been sick and now has pre-pneumonia.
On December 19th , 2008 Larry received a call about the death of three family members simultaneously. Larry’s niece, and 16 year old great-niece and her unborn child were MURDERED in Christiansberg, Virginia. Larry had just lost his brother, Paul, in November. Larry was unable to attend any of the funerals.

On December the 6th, Cheri Palmer turned off the life support on her husband Don Palmer, who had a sudden unexpected heart attack while in the hospital for routine tests. Don was gone in ten minutes. Don served as a New York City police officer, and played the Organ very beautifully. He worked for the Blackfoot Senior Center delivering Meals on Wheels.
Don was a vital member of the Gateway Chapter, and had just been instrumental in the Gateway Chapter receiving a Fifteen-Passenger Van donated to the Chapter by citizens of Blackfoot

On a lighter note, - Sue and Larry Sebranck from the Treasure Valley chapter are on a Cruise!
Come on you guys, please be careful, bundle up, get and stay healthy and be safe and happy for the rest of the year and beyond!
See you soon at the Legislative dinner and State Board meeting!
