Subject: [NCSAB Members] Federal Register Comments on Rest Area Vending Due December 27
Good afternoon,
As you know, the Department of Transportation published a call for comments on several issues affecting commercial activity at interstate rest areas. The deadline for all comments is December 27, 2016.
NCSAB has prepared a sample comment that your agency can submit to help protect the Randolph-Sheppard priority in rest area vending. The attached comment has five spots (highlighted in parentheses and red font) in the first two paragraphs that require your customization. Simply insert the requested information, save the document, and follow the instructions below to submit your comment.
Thank you for your help educating the Department of Transportation about the importance of rest area vending for blind entrepreneurs in your state.
To submit your comment:
1. Go to <http://www.regulations.gov> www.regulations.gov
2. In the docket search field, enter “FHWA-2016-0021”
3. The correct docket is titled “Commercial Activities on Interstate Rest Areas.”
4. Click the blue “Comment Now!” button.
5. You will be required to enter text into the comment field, enter your first and last name, and choose a category for your comment.
6. Important! Your entire comment will not fit into the provided comment field – you must upload your comment as a document or pdf:
a. Under “upload files” click the “choose files” button
b. Select your comment and upload the document
7. After uploading your document, click continue and follow the instructions to submit your comment.
If you have any questions about the notice, NCSAB’s sample comment, or the submission process, please don’t hesitate to contact Katherine Kimmel. Thank you,
Katherine Kimmel and Catriona Macdonald
