Please notify me if you write a letter to support AIMHE. I can write one, but I think the letters are more powerful from students.

Subject: IMPORTANT MESSAGE FROM YOUR NABS LIAISON

Dear Affiliate President and Student Leader:

I hope you are having a joyful holiday season.

Unfortunately, I am wrapping up a semester full of issues with access to my text books, course handouts and other necessary instructional materials. Over the winter break, during Christmas and New Year’s, I will be worrying about the unforeseeable challenges that I will face in the spring semester. It is frustrating that on top of all the other challenges of college, I must be disadvantaged compared to my peers, due to systematic flaws that could be easily corrected. I guarantee that many of the blind students in your affiliate can relate.

As you know. Washington seminar is now only a little over a month away. Unfortunately, we have not reached our goal of obtaining at least five letters from your state. Aim High is finally in the senate. Now more than ever we need your help. Please help enable blind students in overcoming the challenges we face every day. Attached to this email please find a template for how to write a letter, along with two sample letters.

In January when we meet with members of the senate, we want to be able to show them that this legislation effects their constituents. Only then will a senator be willing to support us in our endeavors.

Your action now will impact the lives of blind students today and for generations to come.

Join us as we work to allow blind students to live the lives they want. We know that together, will love, hope and determination, we can transform dreams into reality.
