This could not have been better timed!!

I am bringing it to our braille birthday party celebration tonight at Idaho Pizza.

We are decorating with signs that say things like: Stay Literate Learn Braille. Crack the code! Braille: The Waymaker! If You Can Read, You Can Lead! Six Dots For Success.

Those are just a few.

We have a Louis Braille commemorative poster from NBP.

We have a cake that says Braille Is Beautiful in dots, and in print.

We have had a lot of publicity here in the Magic Valley, so will see if the weather scares anyone away.

Idaho Pizza is offering to participate as well, has put us up on their reader board, and we will be brailling name tags for anyone who cares to darken the door of the banquet room.

We also have an activity, Braille Chaos, a wild card game using the braille alphabet, along with braille alphabet sheets for those who need them, like Uno, except crazier.

We also have braille slogans on the front of Hershey bars, and accompanied with braille alphabet cheat sheets so people can crack the code before enjoying. These are handed out as thank-yous to staffers and to people stopping by.

You guys are missing it, but will have to invite you all down again.

Thanks so much for sending this song!

Judy

Please read through the following emails as we celebrate Louie Braille's Birthday!
It is rumored that james Gashel was his classmate?

    Greetings Anna!
This song was played during the NFBNJ launch of the Braille coin in March
2009 and played at our state convention that fall.
In addition, during many of my ThruOurEyes shows that year, we played the song to highlight Braille and the importance of purchasing the coin.
It was sung by a member of the National Organization of Performing Arts. I don't remember his name however, he is from New York and could have been the president or an officer of the division.
Hope this helps.
Not bad for a senior.
If it is to be recorded again, I would change the part of yea, yea, yea, yea, yea, yea, to dot, dot, dot, dot, dot, dot.
Thanks

Good morning Joe,

Do you know anything about the attached song, Louy Louy 100? President Riccobono thought you might be able to shed some light on its origins.

Thank you,
Anna

The National Federation of the Blind knows that blindness is not the characteristic that defines you or your future. Every day we raise the expectations of blind people, because low expectations create obstacles between blind people and our dreams. You can live the life you want; blindness is not what holds you back.

Make a gift to the National Federation of the Blind and help ensure all blind Americans live the lives they want.

This came from New Jersey I think. Joe Ruffalo may know the origin.
