[NFB-Idaho] For the Braille Bill Committee

I was volunteered, at the board meeting today, and accepted to serve on the
braille bill committee. I would like anyone interested to have access to
the same resources I found, after reading the draft that was distributed on
the mailing list. These resources point to the protections outlined in the
drafted bill as already being in place in state code. and point to perhaps
working on education of parents, advocacy for/of parents within the
existing structure, rather than perhaps an entirely new bill.


Attached is the Idaho Comprehensive Literacy Plan, and the 2017 Special
Education Manual, and below are links to applicable Idaho code.

Title 33-3403

the creation of the Burough of services for the blind, and 3409

that the burough/board of directors can enforce anything related to the
chapter, including the goal of the Burough (33-3403)

The supports and services offered by the burough to support the education
of students includes support related to reading instruction/intervention
and literacy intervention which are addressed in Title 33-16 sections 14

Title 33-1614 and 1616 refer to the Idaho Comprehensive Literacy Plan which
can be found here, and because it is referenced in the code is as good as
