I called the SILC directly to do the survey, since I couldn't make it work
on my computer. I stated strongly that direct training services for the
blind must be provided and that funding should increase rather than decrease
based on the number of older Idahoans who become blind each year. I could
not make the link on the forward I sent from Beth Cunningham work, but this
one on the forwarded email from April Mills does work. The closing date for
survey completion is November 7. We need to flood the SILC with surveys and
call to get help with them if needed. There number is 208 334-3800.

"The National Federation of the Blind knows that blindness is not the
characteristic that defines you or your future. Every day we raise the
expectations of blind people, because low expectations create obstacles
between blind people and our dreams. You can live the life you want;
Blindness is not what holds you back."

Subject: Survey Link

Hi Dana,
Thank you for inviting me to this year's White Cane Banquet. This evening's
event was very nice and I was glad to be able to support the NFB locally.

I mentioned that I would send the link below for the State Independent
Living Council survey that we spoke about. The Survey closes November 7th.

I also promised you I would forward a list of the remaining dates and
locations of public meetings SILC has scheduled acrossed the state.

I had spoken with my local NFB affiliate and we plan to attend the Pocatello
meeting. But if you could forward this in to other chapters I am sure that
their support will not go unnoticed.

Thank you again for a wonderful evening,
April
