Hi Sue,
I made contact with Karen Gallagher at City Hall on Sept. 21. Karen works with VRT regarding their fixed bus lines. I asked her for the name of the city employee who oversees VRT's handling of the Scrip program, and whether Boise had delegated to VRT the right to terminate the program.
I sent Karen a follow up message last week. Karen responded she is still tring to make telephone contact with the right people to get that information for us.
I suspect you are right that the program is of little interest to Boise City. Boise may have "swept" it over to VRT and forgot about it.
The conflicting answers you are receiving suggests VRT just wants the program to die. I hope you and others will continue to call Boise City and VRT. We should beinformed. I don't know if we will be able to change anything.
I'm really pleased to hear from you.
Sue

Sue, Dana said I should talk to you about the taxi script program. You are a legal person so Dana said to talk to you.
We have been getting mixed messages about the taxi script program. This has not just happened to me. When I ordered our taxi scripts for this next year I was told the program would only last for six months while they decided what to do in regards to it. That meant the tickets would expire on March 31, 2021. Today we got our tickets and the expiration date is for September 30, 2021. This probably means the program will last for another year but because of the mixed messages this really needs to be clarified. Vel has called the Mayor’s office and is to get a call back. My comment on that is maybe. Anyway I gather Dana is getting in contact with you about talking to me about what I have heard. I just figured sending you an email would be easier. Maybe your lawyering skills will penetrate their brain so we can find out what is really happening.
I am thinking that the taxi script program is a very small part of the budget and whoever is looking at it doesn’t really know what it is or the importance of it to those of us who don’t drive.
Sue
