Thank you for providing the SPIL links, Alison. I sit on the State independent Living Council (SILC) board and we had our quarterly meeting last Friday so providing this to our members and requesting that we each complete it was on my list. You beat me to it but again to all our members, this is the best way to get the needs of visually impaired and blind individual's needs documented and expressed. It also applies to anyone with a developmental or other disability so please share the link far and wide with everyone you know! Thank you in advance for investing the time to contribute your thoughts. -Erin

I don’t plan to make life a journey to the grave arriving safely in a pretty, well preserved package.
I’m going to arrive skidding in broadside, well worn and exhausted
with a lifetime of experiences and loudly proclaiming, “WOW! What an adventure!” ☺

Subject: [NFB-Idaho] SPIL Survey

Hello All,

There are information and links on the ICBVI external website regarding a survey for the next State Plan for Independent Living (SPIL). As described below the SPIL is the state of Idaho's guideline for Independent Living Services for all individuals who have a disability and participate in independent living services, as well as family members and care givers. I have copied and pasted the information below in this email for you. If you yourself have a disability, have a family member or are a care giver, please take the time to fill out this survey.

Please let me know if you have any questions or concerns.

Thank you.

Alison

Information Survey for the 2024 - 2026 State Plan for Independent Living

Every three years, the Idaho Commission for the Blind and Visually Impaired
(ICBVI) in conjunction with the Idaho State Independent Living Council
(SILC) and the three Centers for Independent Living (CILs) work together in developing the State Plan for Independent Living (SPIL). The SPIL is a three-year plan that sets goals and guides the delivery of independent living services, systemic advocacy, and public outreach and education for the state of Idaho.

Before developing the SPIL, we strive to learn more about what is important to Idahoans with disabilities and their families. We are asking people to take 10 - 20 minutes to complete our survey so we can learn more about your needs and what matters to you. Your responses are confidential unless you choose to share your name.

The survey is available online in both
<https://www.surveymonkey.com/r/5R7KZDV> English and <https://es.surveymonkey.com/r/Z25FVYV> Spanish. Surveys in English and Spanish are also available in hard copy, large print, and Braille. If you would like a copy of the survey in large print or Braille, please contact the Idaho State Independent Living Council (SILC) office at 208-334-3800, to request a survey be mailed to you. If you are needing help in filling out the online version of the survey, please contact your local ICBVI office for assistance.

To print out and complete a survey, the pdf is available in <http://silc.idaho.gov/wp-content/uploads/sites/79/2022/01/2022_STATEWIDE_AS
SESSMENT.pdf> English and
<http://silc.idaho.gov/wp-content/uploads/sites/79/2022/01/2022_STATEWIDE_AS
SESSMENT_SPANISH.pdf> Spanish. If you complete the online version, it is automatically submitted, but if you are filling out a survey in print, large print or Braille please mail your completed survey to:

Idaho State Independent Living Council

120 S. Cole Rd

Boise, ID 83709

PLEASE NOTE: The survey asks if you are a person with a disability, a family member, a service provider agency, or a direct care/community support worker. Many people fall into several of these categories. The electronic survey questions are different depending on how you identify yourself in questions 1 and 2. If you fall into more than one category you may take the survey multiple times if you choose, or just once.

If interested a copy of current SPIL can be read at the following link:
