This week I posed the question, “When we make our hotel reservations for state convention will a credit card be requested and how much will be charged on it?”   

Don checked with the hotel and you can see the response below.

Dana and Sandy,

I checked with The Riverside Hotel on reservations and credit card charges. I am including their response below my signature block in this E-mail.

Short answer is, (a) yes, they ask for a credit card on registration, but (b) the card is not billed until the guest actually checks out of the hotel.

Because we (the Affiliate) will set up the room discount payments just before or on the first day of the Convention, nobody's credit card will be billed the full amount per day.

Hello,

Yes, a credit card is requested at the time of room reservation. However, there is no charge on the credit card until the date of departure. Upon arrival, guests are asked to present their credit card and identification and that is when an authorization is obtained for the charge. Again, the final charge does not post to the credit card until the date of departure.
