Please consider a donation to our museum building fund. Both Ramona and I
contribute and there are probably others from Idaho that I don't know about
who do.

Museum of the Blind People's Movement - Our Insiders Newsletter
As we lay the foundation for what will become a transformative cultural
institution, we want to share the guiding principles that shape every
decision in our planning process: our brand values. These values embody the
spirit of the Museum of the Blind People's Movement, ensuring it reflects a
bold commitment to inclusion and empowerment.
Center Blind People
The Museum of the Blind People's Movement is being designed to amplify the
voices, experiences, and leadership of blind people. Rooted in the blind
people's movement, we prioritize authenticity by ensuring the perspectives
of blind individuals guide the planning, content, and purpose of the museum.
Challenge Expectations
We aim to redefine what a museum can be, breaking away from the traditional
norms and reshaping perceptions of blindness. Through creativity and
innovation, we are crafting spaces and experiences that inspire people to
expand their understanding of what is possible.
Awaken Understanding
Empathy begins with understanding, and we are committed to fostering this
through every aspect of the museum. From accessibility to storytelling, each
element is being thoughtfully planned to create meaningful connections and
normalize blindness as a valued part of human diversity.
Spark Action
This museum will serve as a catalyst for change. Through thoughtful design
and engaging content, we aim to inspire people to challenge stereotypes,
advocate for inclusion, and build a world that embraces blindness as a
unique and normal experience.
Shatter Barriers
Inclusion is at the heart of our process. We are dedicated to creating a
space that recognizes, values, and celebrates everyone's strengths, talents,
and perspectives. From accessible architecture to inclusive practices, the
Museum of the Blind People's Movement is being shaped to break down barriers
and redefine equity in cultural institutions.
Thank you for supporting this endeavor. Together, we are building something
that will celebrate the rich diversity of blind people, spark important
conversations, and create lasting impact.
Pledges and Contributions Update
Thanks to your generosity, we have continued to grow financial support for
the museum. To date, we have secured $5,222,492.94 from over one hundred and
ten contributors. We also have pending requests from contributors that are
considering the amount of their pledge.
Once again, thank you for your unwavering support. Together, we are making
strides towards a more inclusive and equitable world for the blind.
