I am forwarding this newsletter for anyone who may be interested in a free mindfulness course that has just recently become fully accessible to the blind.
It's a very well put together eight week self paced course.

The new version of Palouse Mindfulness is here!
Dear Joseph,
After working for nearly a year behind the scenes, the new interface for the Palouse Mindfulness website is finally done! Next time you go to the website, the most obvious change will be the "face-lift" we've given it, a more open appearance and new navigation menus. But the most significant change, paradoxically, will not be apparent unless you are blind and using a screen-reader. The previous version was totally unusable for someone who needs to use a screen-reader to convert website content to audio. A recent survey of the top 1 million websites shows that less than 5% of websites are fully accessible for blind or sight-impaired users. NOTE: For some pages, your browser may have an old version cached, so if you see something that looks like the old interface, you might have to reload the page (click on the "reload" icon - for most browsers, this is the "circle" icon, usually in the top-left corner). Also, literally every single one of the 200+ pages of the website has been modified, so please let us know if you notice anything that is working incorrectly or if we've introduced any typos.

If you are a graduate and a native-speaker of Turkish or Japanese, and you are interested in helping us create audio recordings of the guided meditations for the new translations of the Palouse Mindfulness course we are working on, write to us at team at palousemindfulness.com with "Turkish meditations" or "Japanese meditations" in the subject line.
Weekly Meetings
If you haven't yet participated in a weekly meeting, please feel free to "drop in" to one of these meetings just to get a sense of what it's like. There are "regulars" for any given meeting time, but any student or graduate who comes is welcome, even if it's just for one meeting. By attending one of these live gatherings, you will be part of a vibrant and active community of fellow students and graduates from all parts of the globe. We now have more than 20 weekly zoom meetings, including meetings in Spanish, Italian, Russian, and Chinese.

All our weekly meetings are an hour long, led by experienced Palouse Mindfulness graduates, and include a short welcome, a meditation, as well as time for sharing. They are warm, inviting, and inclusive, and typically have between 6 and 12 participants. For students still working through the course, any one of the weekly meetings can substitute for one (but only one) of the six weekly formal practices assigned for any given "week". If you are interested in hosting a regular weekly meeting, write to Moira at team at palousemindfulness.com. To lead a weekly session, you don't need to be a mindfulness teacher, but you should be a graduate of the Palouse Mindfulness course and have a regular meditation practice.
