Today, I took an Uber to my flute lesson. I didn't take Goblet, as I don't
need him for this event. My flute teacher loves Goblet and would welcome him
into her home, if I chose to bring him. The Uber driver and I talked about
the problem that Uber has with guide dogs. The driver said that a person,
traveling with a pet or a service dog, should tell the driver in advance, so
the driver can decide whether or not to take the ride. I informed him that
disclosing the use of a service dog, thus disclosing a disability, is
illegal. I further stated that a driver, choosing to drive either for Uber
or Lyft, should bring a blanket or whatever the driver thought would be
needed if carrying a dog. The driver did not agree. I told him that his
stand was against the law.
