Hi Dana and Fellow Federationists,
I won't be attending tomorrow's board meeting but wanted to provide a brief
update on the migration of our NFB Idaho affiliate website.

The new version of the NFB Idaho website has been live for approximately a
month now.

Most of the new website is functional but still has problems
andunctionality issues that are still trying to be worked out. National is
providing some assistance with addressing these issues.

First, I want to publicly recognize Colleen. She has been putting time and
effort in learning how to manage some of the content on the website. She is
doing a good job and will continue to be a valuable member of the website
team. Thank you Colleen for your hard work!

I have been working with the national office on getting the 2025 NFBI
scholarship details and documents featured and made available for download
on the website. My initial attempts were unsuccessful due to issues with
content integrations with some of the internal modules. Therefore, I
immediately reached out to the national's web team. Though they have been a
bit slow in responding, they confirmed last week the problem, so hope it
will be fixed soon.

The video gallery is still not pulling in current videos from our Idaho's
Blind Youtube channel as was the case on our prior website. National has
been working on it for some time and sent me an email Friday that it is now
working. Unfortunately, they are incorrect and it is still static with old
videos and not working.

You may also notice the absence of some other content that was available on
our prior affiliate website. We no longer are able to pull in articles and
other content from the Voice of the Blind blog, or from the SRV chapter
website.

The migration to the new platform also made it impossible to set up domain
based emails for our president, treasurer, or others. Therefore, I am
working on setting up Google workspace for non profits. If I am successful
we can then reestablish domain based emails.

You may also notice that we are also now unable to feature videos on our
homepage that may be relevant to current events or desired messaging.

I would appreciate feedback from our folks on navigation of the website and
how easy it is to find desired content and information. Though we spent
considerable time in outlining a site map prior to the migration it appears
it was not followed in many cases.

I look forward to your feedback and questions.

Best,
Kevin
