Fred Riggers Disability advocacy Day
When: February 4, 2026 from 10:00 a.m. - 1:00 p.m. (MST)
Where: The Idaho state Capital, 1st floor rotunda
Explore the Disability History Exhibit - learn about changing attitudes
toward people with disabilities and the disability rights movement.
Meet the variety of disability services and organizations serving Idahoans
Invite your legislators to explore with you, and start a conversation!
Fred Riggers was an example of a true advocate. He visited the State
Capitol for over 17 years and learned that sharing your story could have an
impact on attitudes and decisions. The conversations Fred started years ago
are often revisited throughout this event.
The Awards Ceremony is at noon - The window for nominations is small, sorry
- if you are interested in nominating someone for an award recognizing
their contributions to advancing the rights of Idahoans with disabilities
