[Nfb-krafters-korner] some class ideas

Hi Carol and all --
Glad someone is interested in the stars. If I do the star in January,
you'll just have to invent a holiday to use it for...*smile*

Question about the macramé: What would people prefer I do for the macramé
class/classes? --
There are 2 basic knots that are used heavily in macrame. I have 3 belt
patterns that demonstrate uses of the 2 knots. In the class I need to first
describe how to tie the knots, which shouldn't take much time.
Then I can get you started on 1, 2 or 3 belts. Since the belts are
repetitious, I should be able to get you started on the first few inches of
each belt, or whicher you choose to make. Then it is your responsibility to
finish the belt/belts you are making after class.

I could also alternately do a hanging pot holder. (It has the same pattern
as one of the belts and an extra spiraling knot useful in the ropes that
connect to the hook at the top. This takes a little longer and so I would
get you started on the top twisted roopes, then on a subsequent class, show
you how to tie the pattern around the pot and possible finish it off at the
end (the bottom).

Obviously the pot hanger takes 3 or so classes to complete, but it is a nice
piece when it is finished.
(In case you don't know what I mean by a pot hanger, it is a macramé holder
for a potted plant (like a fern or other house plant that you hang from the
ceiling or even outside. It is usually made of jute twine.)

Anyway, let me know and I'll organize something for next year.
Happy crafting.

Hi Laura, I would like the class in macramé and also the one
making stars from straws.
My sil made the stars a couple of years ago and I got the
supplies I needed but never made them.
