One trick is to thread a piece of yarn through the loops before you take
them off of the loom.  Sort of like a life line in knitting that we talked
about a number of weeks back on the Monday Night Chat.

What I remember about doing hairpin lace which is going back a long time,
is that when you take it off your special loom you have to lie it down flat
and then fold the strip up.  If you pick it up and it is allowed to
spin/turn you lost it forever.
