Hi Lucy,

Welcome to the group.  I am sure that you will learn a lot from everyone on
this list.

I was excited to see that you live in Syracuse NY.  I grew up near Watkins
Glen NY and went to the NY School for the Blind in Batavia NY.  I moved to
VA 22 years ago and do not miss upstate NY winters.  I will be passing
through Syracuse NY next week on my way to see my parents.  Do you have any
tips on navigating the Syracuse Amtrak station?  If you have any info for
me, you can e-mail me off list at amcarr1 at verizon.net

My crafts of choice are knitting, crocheting, broom stick lace and origami.
I would like to learn to do Turkish knitting (I think that is the correct
name).  It is similar to broom stick lace, but done with a hook that looks
like a combination of a crochet hook and knitting needle.  Also on my list
of to do's is to improve my skills with hairpin lace.

Hi everyone,

I would like to introduce myself. I will be turning 39 years old next month,
I live in Syracuse, New York and I have decided to go back to college
starting next month. I enjoy reading, working on the computer, and cooking.
I am totally blind and enjoy doing crafts, but I am very new to it. I have
made pillows, and I have made very simple jewelry with beads. I would love
to learn more things, but I haven't had any help until now. <smile> I look
forward to getting to know you all.
