Hi Linda:

I'm a knitter and there are other knitters on this list.  Do you know what 
type of cast on you have been trying to do?  Is it the knit on cast on, 
where yu knit on each cast on stitch, or are you using a long tail for the 
long tail cast on?

If you can try and describe your steps, maybe I can see where you might be 
having problems. There are many ways to cast on and probably on a handful of 
them are really good ones.
