[Nfb-krafters-korner] Knitting query regarding casting on.

Hi Annette:

I'm not Joyce, but in my last post I mentioned the "Harmony" interchangeable
set offered by knitpicks. They are made of birch wood and very comfortable
in the hand. If you have some sight, the Harmony needle tips are color
coated, so it might make determining size a little easier for a vip
knittter. I like the Denise set a lot too, & are also comfortable in my
hands because they are plastic. The main difference between the two
different sets for me are the cables.

I use magic loop very frequently for knitting in the round and I like the
slim, slick, flexible cables in the Harmony wood set. I can do magic loop
with the Denise set as well, but the cable is thicker (at least it feels it)
and stitches don't slide along the Denise cables as easily.

Like the Boid needles, the Harmony tips can unscrew from the cables, but
here to I check every so often and tighten them up. On the other hand I
have had the Denise cable just tug right out of the tips once when trying on
a knit top and I lost the stitches. So there can be issues with any needle
you use, but if you are aware and pay attention problems can be avoided.

I rate the Denise & the Harmony wood comprable sets ... both very nice. Be
aware if going with knitpicks, they also make an "Options" set that is
nickel plated metal.

Eileen
