If you did not get an answer, it is like 2 short double pointed needles,
connected with a flexible wire. Your stitches move freely over this
wire, from one needle to the other. Depending on the wire length, you
can make something small to very large.

Eileen, Please excuse my ignorance. I have read all your material lists
but I was not clear if a circular needle was the same thing as a
doublepointed needle. From your last post, I see they are not the same.
Now can you tell this novice so what a circular needle looks like?
