If you want to make more than one, Walmart has a combo of 2 sizes of key rings and 2 kinds of clasps. The large one, you should be able to fit the knitted band in and fit it on the key ring. The bag is about $4.00.

2 suggestions:
1. since you are making the necklace so long, there is really no need to have a clasp as any necklace 24 to 25 inches and above fits easily over the head.
2. you can purchase clasps for such things. I bought some magnetic closure clasps for some of the jewelry I had that needed fixing. They are available anywhere if you look. I got mine from QVC. I got magnetic closures as this is the easiest to work with, and if someone has the necklace caught on something or if a child grabs the necklace, the mag clasp will come apart before the wearer chokes.

Just a thought.
Have fun.

Subject: [Nfb-krafters-korner] A Quick Gift Idea: Knitting

Greetings to all,

I'm knitting up one of those key holder necklaces for quick-gifts, and to
see if they sell.

I threaded the loop that has the key ring attached through the yarn before
casting on.. Next, I'm knitting an I-cord that will be approximately 30
inches long.

At about the halfway point, (15 inches or so) I will incorporate the
keyring, and continue working on the I-cord until it reaches 30 inches, then
I'll bind off.

However, I'm not sure what to do about adding some type of clasp or closure
to help it stay around the wearer's neck.

Does anyone have any suggestions/ideas on this?

Thanks in advance!

Liz
