[Nfb-krafters-korner] candle making

What's fun is making something crazy like a donut shaped sand candle with
several wicks going around, then thinking up something creative to put in
the middle -- preferably not something flammable...
I have gotten to dislike candles because of the difficulty lighting them
without seeing the wick. My vision has gotten to the point where I really
have to do it by feel -- not touching the flame, but touching the wick then
approximating where to put the flame to light it. Does anyone else bother
lighting candles, or do you just make the candles and leave the burning part
to sightlings?
I am fortunate to still be able to see the flame, so I know when the thing
is successfully lit, but I have long since religated lighting candles to my
family members.
Hmm. It would be fun to send a fancy candle to my niece and nephew for
Christmas. But I'll never get to it in time.

I look forward to your success in making sculpted candles. I've only made
the straight ones and I used rechycled wax from other candles. they were
quite ugly to say the least, but I had fun doing them anyway. My husband
makes sand candles in a variety of shapes and colors.
