[Nfb-krafters-korner] rag rugs

Carolyn, I am probably not the best one to talk to about this. I have never
done a lot of crocheting. However, I made a couple of rugs out of heavy rug
yarn. I just made a chain about a foot long and then worked back along it
attaching the new stitches to the old ones. Then I kept going around. I
think the rug is about 27 inches by 40. It has a nice circular line
spiraling around the whole thing. I used a pretty big hook, but I don't
remember the size. I gave it to a friend who returned it to me when she
moved into assistive living, so I still have it.

I also made a great hbig rug out of a little lighter yarn. It was
octagonal, and each stitch was three loops through the row before. That
probably is not a good explanation, and I never had the written pattern.

I would be surprised if some of this crowd doesn't know more about this.
