[Nfb-krafters-korner] Happy Day for Me

It is a large closed circuit television - CCTV - you put something down on
the base of it which is a large movable pad, then it is enlarged to a degree
that works for you. I have some peripheral vision, so it works for me. I
have no central vision, which means I cannot see much color nor any detail
at all. My condition is the lowest level of "low vision."

But, with this machine I am able to actually read some text and see my
beading as necessary. I do it mostly non-visually, then use the machine for
very intricate detail and it is working for me. The machine cost $2,800. - I
actually have two CCTVs. One is an Acrobat, with the camera outside and
movable so it is very versatile. I have one in my studio and one in my
office now.

The Merlin seems to be so much more bright and detailed than the acrobat.
These machines would be very wonderful for anyone who has some vision of any
level I am sure since my condition is called "Proufound Low Vision" so if I
had more of it, it would work even better. But I am thrilled to have this
piece of equipment!
