These all sound like great ideas and worth saving them for future
reference.

I have done the Chocolate Cookies in a jar, but I liked the large recipe of
 the ones posted by Dixie.

I had gotten a while ago at a quilt show 2 books entitled "Presents in a
Jar" [I think that was the name of one of them]. The other one was Cookies
in a jar and it had a bunch of recipes for different cookie ingredients that
you layered in a quart glass jar. I did this as a Girl Scout project and
it was open to any troops in my area. My friend and I had lots of fun with
all the girls ranging from age 6 up to age 10. We had put each ingredient
in a large bowl. I had gotten enough measureing cups and spoons and then
we had groups of 6 girls come up at a time and go through the line
measuring their ingredients out and going back to their seats to push the layers
down to pack them. . Then while the girls were up getting the first half
of the ingredients we had the others sitting and decorating a card with the
directions of making the cookies. I had printed out the directions on some
kinda card stock and I had used a cute font that was like a child's hand
writing. The last line on the card I had put, "Don't forget to invite me
when you make these cookies as I am the official cookie tester!
"
The last thing we had them put in was the flour and we helped pack that
down. Their leaders helped them put the lids aon and attach their cards.
Wee had great fun doing it and at one of these sessions we booked in 2 times
periods we had 125 girls complete this.

Word of worning the glass jars can be hard to find as they are available
during canning time readily so think ahead and pick up a case of them if you
want to do this.

We did an oatmeal raisin cookie mix and a chocolate chip cookie mix for the
girls. Just in case someone was allergic to chocolate, but the chocolate
chip was the most desired recipe.
