[Nfb-krafters-korner] Holiday Traditions

Well, as far as present, I always try to make some gifts, and for two years now I've been trying to make Christmas stockings.

Far as family: here are some of the things I remember. My mom is an excellent seamstress so she was always sewing or doing something craft-srelated ... but more than that, I remember our cooking together!!

We cooked lots of cakes and pies and lots of just plain ol' good food!!!!!!! We always had a houseful of people, and she had a tree and decorations. I can't imagine how it cost her to do all that as really now that I know things I know that lots of times her heart wasn't in it but she did it.

But the Christmas tradition that I guess we're remembering now is that on Christmas Day (or Christmas Eve--depending on who had to work and all that) she'd have a Christmas breakfast. And what a breakfast!! She started all that after we all left home as it was hard to get everybody together on Christmas Day or later on Christmas Eve. Now I'm doing the same thing but on Thanksgiving instead of Christmas.
