For the  Circus yarn which I think most of the colors are varigated and the 
yarn is textured, you'd probably want a simple garter or rib or seed st 
pattern.  Fancier stitches will be lost in the yarn.  Use your book to get 
ideas on how many stitches and how large to make it then just use your yarn 
as you like.  .
