For the Homespun, it has a yarn layer wrapped around a center core thread. 
You don't want to shove that soft yarn layer down but keep it evenly around 
the core. It will all work out, just keep it up there with your knitting 
needles as you go along. Do not shove that outer layer down and just knit 
that center core or you will have very thin spots in your knitting and you 
won't be happy with the end results.  Lynda River Woman
