There are a lot of resources for free patterns out there.
 
When you are doing a search on one of the search engines be specific  
example:
free knit dish cloth patterns 
 
crochet hat pattern free 
baby sweater knit pattern top down free
 
You will get things that contain these words in it and they all will not be 
 exactly what you are looking for, but it will point you in the direction 
to help  you find some of what you are looking for.
 
There are dish cloth sites out there full of patterns for anything you can  
imagine and there are knitting and crochet sites out there for patterns 
that are  free for anything you can think of, too.
 
It will just take some time and search for you to come across what you have 
 in mind.
 
That is why there are a lot of email groups available  with people  that 
have similar interests in more specific things  like  dish cloth  or 
babysweaters, etc.  These groups are a great resource for pattern  finding and 
sharing within their own particular topic.
