Those $.99 grocery bags are very handy for crafts.  I also use large zip locks to separate my yarn, some times.  My craft, a large pencil case with supplies, yarn, braille note, cane, folder, swetter and umbrella, all fit fine in one of those bags.

Annette,

Have you found a style of bag more usable to bring your craft with you? I always have a bag/briefcase with a book, Braille Note, and often my GPS and any papers or whatever. I think that, if I could find a self=contained bag that would slip nicely into the other bag I would do that.

Yes I CIP.  I take my knitting and/or crocheting, and now hairpin lace every where I go.  If I have to wait for any length of time, out comes my project.
No matter if I am at the doctor's office, my daughter's basketball game, a restaurant, you will find me working on a project.  And yes, I pull out my project while I am commuting on the Metrorail, bus, Para transit, car, etc.

One day I was knitting in the car and when we were sitting at a red light a woman in the car to our right shouted "Wow, way to go, knitting in public.
I'm not brave enough to take my knitting out of the living room."  Then the light changed and she was gone.
