Weaving seed beads onto a loom is quite a bit different than regular loom
weaving. Here is how it works if you aren't familiar
A bead loom is either flat or some models are slightly raised on a incline.
It has 2 round wood spools at both ends with bolts and wingnuts drilled
into them then a metal bar with little coils that resemble a spring. The
loom is worped by tieing your warp threads on the bolt, then inserting each
thread between the coils as you work across stretching the thread to the
other end passing it through the ccoils on the other end tieing them to the
bolt and tightening it up by turning the wingnuts.
Once the loom is warped, you tie your weft thread onto your first warp
thread, attaching a beading needlepicking up as many beads as your warps
bring the strand of beads underneath the warp threads and gently push the
beads up so they rest between the warp threads and then passing the needle
through the beads again to lock them in place. Then you push the finished
row as close to the top of the loom as you can very tightly leaving no
space between rows. You do your next row the same way, but you are working
from the other direction. It's basically putting one row of beads on at one
time. ing word charts or word patterns are simply a row by row listing with
the color and number of beads you'll need for each row. You can easily
convert any counted cross stich pattern for use on a bead loom. There are
also charts available for off loom beading stiches as well.
