The yarn I got from web yarn is in a differn form. It is a lot longer than a regular scain, with a tag at one end. Do I have to role it into a ball or can I use it like a regular scain. Ilene, at chat, thought it might be a shank and need to be roled into a ball, first.

I have made them out of this walnet heather. I have been told they look very nice in this color.

I have used Charcoal grey, black, walnut heather, navy and drab olive green.

I have not found any thing that is desert sand.

I have used the Cascade 220 and the North Hampton yarns from Webs. I have also used some 100% wool that I got from AC Moore's.
