[Nfb-krafters-korner] needles

I do all of my crafts by tutch.  All I use my sight for is to distinguish colors, and that is even getting harder, and discovering designs in the world.  I was at my sisters house and was admiring her throw rugs.  I am going to see if I can copy the patern on to a plastic canvis coaster, how neet!

I had partial sight for a very long time, but I was never able to see well enough to see knitting when I learned it -- so I guess I got used to using 
touch to know what I was doing.   If you practice, it isn't hard to feel 
what is going on.  I consider myself very visual as I visualize the stitches in my mind, but I identify them by touch.
I'm sure you can do it it (I'm a lousy braille reader, and I have a hard time identify tactile graphics and pictures, but with knitting, I know what it is supposed to look like, and so it isn't hard to find where I am and what needs to be done.)

Hi Eileen,
I have been an avid knitter for many years, since about 8 years old. But
since my sight loss, I have not ventured into the hard stuff, as I do not
know how to FIX a mistake and have to take it to a friend for help. Before ,
I used to be able to fix most anyting, but not now. So, I need to begin to
be more adventurous and this will get me going.

I live in a rural area, no local yarn shops - closest one is 30 miles away.
I will probably order one on line.
Do you have a date for the class - so I can put it on my calendar. And, if I
need to do anything before the class to be prepared, please let me know.
When will we sign up for the class, do you know?
