Oh, funny.  I used to use the chain nose, and they made my crimp flat.  I wonder if it was just because it was something that I bought when I started beading and didn't know better.  I bought my crimping tool years ago and love it.  I'll have to check out good chain nose pliers just to see.

  You are welcome. I had trouble with the crimping tool.  it made my crimps 
  uneven and created a sharp edge the chain nose pliers creates a nice smooth 
  edged crimp for me. I believe in buying good quality tools for beading 
  becuase they never have to b e replaced.
