Well within the last 2 weeks I did take scissors to yarn, but I was not
cutting up the project. I am working on a knitted blanket for my queen size
bed. I started out in the corner and every row I added a stitch. The
middle ended up being more then 550 stitches. I was doing it in a lavender,
medium purple and a light green yarn. I had purchased those 1 pound skeins
from Joann's Fabric. Now I am decreasing and had gone through 6 skeins.
These last 3 skeins gave me problems. I would use one at a time and tried
getting the yarn to feed from the center out, but each one ended up with gobs
of yarn coming out of the center in hunks. I ended up with this bag of
yarn that I thought was the 3 colors, but tangled in a mess. So I started
with scissors and winding up yarn in balls. I would work them up until I
could not get a knot out or ran out on an end I was winding. I put these into
a bag and then had John look at them and sort them into 3 bags matching
each color. I then would take the smaller balls and wind it into one large
ball all the same color. I am still working on this blanket and switch
bnack and forth from winding balls of these 3 color yarn to knitting on the
blanket. I have maybe one foruth of the blanket left to finish. I went out
and purchased 1 more skein of yarn as I don't think I will have enough to
finish it. I have some left of the yarn of the 3 colors, but not all that
much left.

So I use the scissors on this bundle of yarn tangled together, but my
blanket is still being worked on.
