We have a woodworking shop here at our Center and train clients all the time.  It is very safe if you know and follow the alternatives.  Learn about the click ruler to start.

I did some woodworking projects at a rehab center many years ago.  There are 
many visually impaired woodworkers.  If proper guards, safety equipment and 
techniques are used woodworking should be very safe.
