Have you tried pottery?  You mentioned the stepping stones, and the 
possibility of mosaics, so I am thinking that pottery might be something you 
would like to do. I am a potter - took it up again after my sight loss three 
years ago when I could not paint or do printmaking any longer.  You can 
learn at a local art center probably. That is what I did - and I am still 
going strong. There is at least one other potter on this list that I know 
of, too.
