This is very wonderful news.  When the collage is finished, give it a nice 
home in a frame and put it on a wall so he can have pride in it when others 
see it there. He is making art and that is quite a fantastic achievement for 
both of you.  Art making is messy business for anyone - that is one of the 
largest obstacles to overcome in people when they start making art. Once 
they learn it is OK to get their hands into the glue, paint, clay, or other 
materials you have taken a big step forward.  It is very important to feel 
the materials you are working with, even for sighted persons.

Your day together sounds so wonderful. Enjoy it. Lynda
