Hi Annette,
Some kind of gift or something came in the bag. It is just about the size of
a scane of yarn. So it hangs nicely on my wrist or the knob of a drawer by
my chair. It is nylon so after some of the scane is used the yarn slides
nicely out. Since I use it mainly for cotton yarn the ball flips and flops
in the bag with no problem.  I absolutely love it. I can measure it and let
you know the size of mine. But if you just sew a bag as large as you think
you want on your wrist with a hem on top for the cord to slide through, you
will probably be happy.  It fits nicely in my purse and goes where I go. Lol

I am with you. I am lucky to do my crafts. A book and needles are my
partners.

I have a  little  nylon bag. It has a draw string on it made of  good sturdy
cord.  I can put it on my wrist with a part ball of yarn to keep my knitting
from running away. I do a lot of dish cloths while out in public s it works
perfectly.  The nylon helps the yarn slide smoothly and my short needles
will fit in.

Can you find out where your friend got the yarn holder.  I would love to
find something to hold my yarn while I am commuting on the Metro.  

As far as walking, using the treadmill or elliptical while knitting or
crocheting, is not on my list of to do's.  Now I have worked on a needle
craft project while I was on a spin bike waiting for the spin class to
start, but again, not at the top of my list.  So for now, I think I will
stick with listening to a book or music when on the treadmill or elliptical.
Now, listening to a book and knitting or crocheting ranks at the top of the
list for me.

I have a device that holds the yarn while you do activities. It is made of
wire, and goes around the wrist. You put the yarn into it, and there you go,
knitting away as you walk, SPIN, StairStep,Bicycle, or TREAD.  haha  Of
course I have never used this device - my friend who owns the gym where I
work out bought it for me, and one for her. I wonder if she has used hers.
