[Nfb-krafters-korner] A Blind Moment

I do not even use glass unless it is for guests.  I have plastic cups with lids and a hole for a straw, that I take into the living room.  No more stains for me, if I can avoid it.  My husband caused to many by eating in the living room.  I also use bottles with caps.  I keep my snack and drink on the end table and my work is on the couch, in the basket or maybe on the coffee table.  Thankfully no accidents, yet!

Talking about looking for things, I was looking for my notebook with my imfo about DORS, Division of Rehab Services.  They are coming, today.  I looked all over my desk, I thought.  Checked my book case, my book bag and my pull along bag, at home.  I finally found it, hidden under my phone list, right in frunt of my nose, if I had only dug deeper!

I try to have a case for knitting related items and one for plastic canvis related items.  I still need to come up with a way to identify unlabeled yarn.  I will have to test my new color identifier on colors I know and see how reliable it is.  When we tried it, it had trouble with black and dark blue and it called white, lite gray.

Yep - I'm deadly when it comes to glassware!  I'll add that if there is a crack anywhere in the vacinity , my finger nail will find it!

Okay Ladies,

My Husband says I can get so close to something and miss that he is sure I actually touched it. But, if there is a glass of something in my way, I never, I tell you, never miss dumping it. Lol 

This is life and it sounds like all you newly blinded have caughton to the way to deal.

One thing I have noticed lately, my "sighted" friends have other issues.
Like needing light to find the bathroom at night or needing glasses to change the channel on the Tv.  I think it all works out in the wash.

You are having "A Blind Moment".  It can be mild for just a moment or  it can last forever and be a total melt down.  Been there and done  that.  I am

sure all of you have heard me yelling at the top of my lungs  when I am looking[feeling around] for something and I know it is here.  I  once in a while willyell really loud, " I hate being blind!"  It makes me  feel better right away and then I usually walk away from whatever I was in  search for and go back later.  It is amazing how you can go back later and  put your hands right on it.  It has to be those gremlins messing with your  mind.
