Oh, thank you!  This is a great help!  I have a plastic card with holes for
all the needle sizes on it, now I can use this as a basis to chart out what
the holes are so I can use it independently!

Now I just have to find something similar for the crochet hook sizes!

Hi Maria:

Your sizing for needles is clearly by Metric & ours is U.S. sizing there is 
also Canadian/U.K. sizing to make things all the more confusing.  I'm 
posting a link below that will give a chart for the needle conversions & 
their equivalents the colums/rows are presented as Metric Sizes (mm),
U.S. sizes, & then UK/Canadian.  In some cases of MM sizes I think there are

no U.S. equivalent, but you can look it up on the listing at:

http://www.yarnforward.com/needleconv.html


I think your size 4.0MM is our U.S. size 6.  You might want to copy and 
paste the chart into a file so you can look sizes up or at least file away 
the link to the web site.
