I did my blanket in a green and used a light and a medium lavender. As I
did the diagonal striping I switched back and forth between a garter stitch
[knit every row] color stripe and a stockenette [knit 1 row and purl 1 row
color stripe. So it was just a pattern made up and I just changed the
color and the pattern stitch as I went along. I have not worked on it during
the summer, but the fall is coming. I put it on the bed and snuggle under
it while I knit. I have fallen asleep and in the middle of the night
wondered what was sticking me as I pulled the blanket up around my neck better.
I can report in that I haven't dropped a stitch yet as I ccan pull up
these circular needles and get the points far away from the stitches sittting
on the needles.
Another tip for Cindy:
It is easier for me to use circular needles because I don't have to feel
around to find the knitting needle that dropped some place. They are always
attached!
