[Nfb-krafters-korner] FQ: Crafts on the go

I think the screeners do not recognize it as anything pointed or sharp. No
one has ever challenged it and I have flown dozens of times with them. I
would also be upset to lose them, but it is worth the risk to have them with
me.

Neva

I was just thinking about that recently, what would happen if you brought
those folding scissors in a tote with your knitting on a plane.

They didn't say anything to you? I kinda thought maybe they would not know
what it was being all folded up like that. I would be real upset if they
wanted to take it away from me.

I take my small round knitting loom with a ball of yarn, a pick, a yarn
needle, a bone crochet hook and folding scissors that I bought at the NFB
convention from one of the state chapters. I even fly with this. I carry
it all in a tiny round tote bag with a draw string and a carabeener so I
can hook it on the outside of my back pack so I can get to it quick when I
board the plane. I have a larger tote that I take when I travel by car.
When I fly, extra yarn goes on in my checked bag. Knock on wood, no one
has ever challenged any of the items that might seem dangerous for airplane
use.

NFB Krafters Korner's Friday's Question of the Week for 4/8/11

What craft do you take on the go? What supplies do you take with you, and
how do you keep it organized?

The purpose of the NFB's Krafters Korner's Friday's Question of the week is
to stimulate craft related conversations and for the sharing of information
which crafters who are blind might find helpful. If you have ideas for
future Fridays Questions of the Week, please e-mail Annette at
<mailto:amcarr1 at verizon.net> amcarr1 at verizon.net or Joyce at

Happy crafting,

Annette
