I have some things I need to finish right now, but I'll write up a
description of all my ripple pattern stitches and post them.
They are all simple and at least with the crocheted ones, varying the colors
can make some beautiful afghans.  Oh, but I forget a lot of persons don't
have color vision -- I still see some color and am very picky about color
combinations. I am making a ripple afghan for my brother that has 4 colors: 
2rows navy blue, 4rows royal blue, 2rows light yellow and 2rows lemon
yellow, repeated over and over.  The effect for some reason looks like
moving from night to dawn and sunrise to noonday, and I call it the shades
of day pattern.  It is very striking. I don't know why some colors just
work.
Anyway, more in a little bit.  So much to do, and the fun things are so
tempting...

I have made several crocheted rippled afghans.  There are many variations.
What do you want it to look like? Large or small zigzags? rounded wavy 
ripples?  Do you want a crocheted or knitted pattern?
Let me know. I could just post the basic pattern on list as it is quite 
simple.
Speaking of ripples, I also have a knit stitch pattern called "fan and 
feathers".  It is quite pretty and nice for a project that you want to 
ripple.  The original pattern that it came from was a sweater. I never made 
that as it was kind of involved, but the stitch would go nice in a scarf or 
a throw or a baby blanket.
